Monday July 25th, New Skills Found in Haiti (David Johnston)

Today was the first day of actually getting our hands dirty. I signed up for the all-day construction crew and enjoyed a full day of sun at the new warehouse building site. They are constructing a huge metal warehouse to be able to increase the feeding program that feeds 50,000 children in Haiti.

Five of us from the team did a variety of tasks like carrying heavy steel beams, bolting brackets in various places, built some saw horses, and tried not to get in the way. Loads of fun.
